Following the USA's final defeat to Spain, McEnroe said he was hopeful the 34-year-old would play in 2005. "For Andre, the door is always open," said McEnroe. "He's never completely shut the door, at least to me. "As long as he's still out there competing at the level he's at, I'm going to keep asking." Agassi stopped playing for the US four years ago to focus on Grand Slams, and it is now nine years since the Americans won the Davis Cup.
