A fact without a theory

Is like a ship without a sail,

Is like a boat without a rudder,

Is like a kite without a tail.

A fact without a figure is a tragic final act,

But one thing worse in this universe

Is a theory without a fact.

Tujhye Kiya Samjhon

Muj ko ulfat bhi naheen

Muj ko adawat bhi naheen

Main tujhe ajnahi samjhon

k shanasa samjhon ?

Ek khalish si hay

jo beytab kiye deti hay

Dard samjhon K tujhe

dard ka darman samjhon

Tujh se shikwa bhi naheen

Tujh se shikayat bhi naheen

kuch samjh main naheen ata hay

K tujhe kya samjhon

Ajnabi ajnabi samjhon

k shanasa samjhon......!

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,

there is a field. I'll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass,

the world is too full to talk about.

Ideas, language, even the phrase each other

doesn't make any sense.

What the material world values does

not shine the same in the truth of

the soul. You have been interested

in your shadow. Look instead directly

at the sun. What can we know by just

watching the time-and-space shapes of

each other? Someone half awake in the night sees imaginary dangers; the

morning star rises; the horizon grows

defined; people become friends in a

moving caravan. Night birds may think

daybreak a kind of darkness, because

that's all they know. It's a fortunate

bird who's not intrigued with evening,

who flies in the sun we call Shams.

if you want what visible reality

can give, you're an employee.

If you want the unseen world,

you're not living your truth.

Both wishes are foolish,

but you'll be forgiven for forgetting

that what you really want is

love's confusing joy

I gaze into the heart, lowly it may be,

Thought the words be higher still.

For the heart is all the substance,

The speech an accident.

How many phrases will you speak,

Too many for me.

How much burning, burning will you feel,

Be friendly with the fire, enough for me.

Light up the fire of love inside,

And blaze the thoughts away.

I don’t need

a companion who is

nasty sad and sour

the one who is

like a grave

dark depressing and bitter

a sweetheart is a mirror

a friend a delicious cake

it isn’t worth spending

an hour with anyone else

a companion who is

in love only with the self

has five distinct characters

stone hearted

unsure of every step

lazy and disinterested

keeping a poisonous face

the more this companion waits around

the more bitter everything will get

just like a vinegar

getting more sour with time

enough is said about

sour and bitter faces

a heart filled with desire for

sweetness and tender souls

must not waste itself with unsavory matters

You who are not kept anxiously awake for love’s sake, sleep on.

In restless search for that river, we hurry along;

you whose heart such anxiety has not disturbed, sleep on.

Love’s place is out beyond the many separate sects;

since you love choosing and excluding, sleep on.

Love’s dawn cup is our sunrise, his dusk our supper;

you whose longing is for sweets and whose passion is for supper, sleep on.

In search of the philosopher’s stone, we are melting like copper;

you whose philosopher’s stone is cushion and pillow, sleep on.

I have abandoned hope for my brain and head; you who wish for

a clear head and fresh brain, sleep on.

I have torn speech like a tattered robe and let words go;

you who are still dressed in your clothes, sleep on.

Main na mil sakon jo tum se, meri justujo na karna

Tumhain meri hi qasam hay, meri arzoo na karna

Mujhy jis se thi muhabbat, use thi ajab si adat

Kabhi mounh phair lena, kabhi guftugo na karna

...

Maine chaha tha kisi ko, mera haal kya hay dekho

Jo kiya qusoor maine, wo tum kabhi na karna

Meri ho agar buraayi to naa denaa tum safaai

Mere saath khud ko ruswaa kabhi koobako na karna

Tumhain meri hi qasam hay, meri arzoo na karna

Main na mil sakon jo tum se, meri justujo na karna

Koi poochhe badnaseebi ki hai intihaa bhi koi

To meri misaal denaa to mujhe namona karna.

At the moment you entered this world,

A ladder was placed in front of you to allow you to escape.

First you were a mineral, then you became a plant,

...

Then you became an animal: how could you ignore it?

Then you were made into a man gifted with the knowledge, reason, and faith;

Observe this body, drawn from dust: what perfection it has acquired!

When you have transcended the conditon of manhood,

no doubt you will become an angel.

Then you will have done with this earth, your dwelling will be in heaven.

Go beyond the angelic condition, dive into this ocean,

So that the drop of water that is you can become a sea.

“Knock, And He'll open the door

Vanish, And He'll make you shine like the sun

Fall, And He'll raise you to the heavens

Become nothing, And He'll turn you into everything.”

People want you to be happy.

Don't keep serving them your pain!

If you could untie your wings

and free your soul of jealousy,

you and everyone around you

would fly up like doves.”
