I fully agree with Insaan, there is no problem if women have the ability to do a job and if they want 2 utilize their education. Teaching is the most suitable and respectable job 4 women. They can teach more properly than man.

Secondly agar women professional field me bhi ati hen to is me bhi koi kabahat nahi hai, if & only if their family allow them.

As for as Islam is concerned, Islam me ye kahin nahi hai k aurat ghar say bahar na niklay ya job na karay, haan ye hai k aurat k liye sab say bhtareen jagah us ka ghar hi hai, agar wo job karti hai to usay chahiye k apni family n apnay religion ki khud respect karaye. Agar fully hijab nahi ti atleast scarf to lia ja sakta hai na.

Aur jahan tak degrees wali baat hai; to parhna kahan mana hai chahay islamiat parho chahy science.

i am not agreed with you Guys at all well yaha topic main tu may be tum sab ke mentality ko samjna imposible hoo ga bakee. Kese kee Aqeede ke bare main app sab kahne walee koi be nahi Apna Damaan hee bach jayee that enough . Aur Bake JOB never be a Big Issue ..... Do kisam ki larkian job karti hain

1) Needy Girls, [Jinhain family ya khud ko support karna hota hai]

2) Broad Minded Girls, [Jo shokia job karti hain ya woh jo apne app ko broad minded kehlana chahti hain like jadoo]

Needy Girls are OK to do job anywhere as long as work environment is good enough.

Broad Minded girls can be seen now a days at every city and office/bank. You can be witness yourself that in such offices other workers are also not doing their jobs properly because of such few items. Im witness myself of this thing in many offices. Aise females ki dressing bhi unethical and out of limits hoti hai im sorry to say but its fact.

The worst implication of it can be witness yourself, mentioned as follows.

1) Males cannot get jobs easily, who have to support their family definately

2) Mostly Jobs are avertised as "Females Only" with job requirements like Good Looking, Handsome, Friendly, Open Minded instead of any skills required by them. (Look at any sunday news paper or check job boards)

3) If any job is advertised with unspecified gender mostly females get call for interview. The reason which increased female workforce dramatically over past few years.

I can even share real stories here but the purpose should be productive. Think for a while and with un biased mind and tell if im right or wrong anywhere.

@ Waqas....yeah waqas u r very true,,its the fact. n this shouldn't happen,,thats the reason that female get job easily n male remain jobless....

A sfar as dressing of those females are concern...i m sharing my real observation,,me apni friend k sath bank me account khulwany gai...that was a private bank..me and my friend were surprised to see their dressing..it looks that they came to attend a party...

I want to add here that there is also a third party of female who is highly educated n do job not just for earning,,but to utilize their abilities and knowledge..n i think there is no harm in this..but the main point is that they should dresses up properly..because we all are muslims and we should dress up in a religious way.

It Depends! upon several aspects.

Waqas, you have assigned a negative connotation to the thinking of all those girls who are doing job not for their need. :) Thats not fair. :) A girl who has got high education, and belongs to a rich family, if does a job then it does not mean that she is broadminded in the negative sense. Obviously she is not working for need. Her purpose is to put into use her education (same point as nice friend :) ), besides teaching her siblings and children.

There can be several reasons for a lady to do job, requirement being the foremost.

And whether she should do a job or not depends on the following factors:

1. The nature of job

2. The environment of job

3. The requirement

4. The will of the family

5. The personality of the female

1. THE NATURE OF JOB.

If, supposedly, the job is such which is not suitable for a female to do, she

MUST not do it. For example,

a. Any job, in which she becomes a show piece.

b. Any job which is unislamic (singing, dancing, modeling, a job in which she is bound to give and take bribes, apply to men also).

c. Any job which requires time and effort to such an extent that she can not easily cope with it (She is not able to manage, and some of her extremely essential duties are being neglected- like she has to go to office at 8 am and has to return at 10 pm and her whole family is being neglected).

d. Any job which is not actually for her, like the job of a soldier.

2. THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE WORK-PLACE

If the environment is not good enough then she must give up that particular job (may seek for another). For example, she is not feeling comfortable with several of her male colleagues and her boss as welll and she can not do anything about it and the situation is getting worse then in such a case she must try another place.

3. THE WILL OF THE FAMILY

If the husband does not agree for the job then she MUST quit it. The basic thing is the agreement and satisfaction of her husband and the peace of her home. If he allows for a decent job, and if she can convince him, then the girl is lucky.

4. THE REQUIREMENT

If her family does not need it and she is doing a job for another purpose the she MUST quit it in the case of her duties being neglected. And if she and her family needs it then she must continue, provided she can manage. And if she can not manage, although she needs it, then she must go for a job in which she can manage.

5. THE PERSONALITY OF THE FEMALE

Well this is not really a part of the factors. This is actually a limitation.

While doing a job (Or while studying in a university... while at any place where there are namehrams) she must be properly covered.

These can be the only reasons for a female of not doing a job. If she is covered properly then she can go to the other end of the world. No harm!

Unislamic Jobs

The job that reqruits female in such terms: good, beautiful, attractive, tall, lady required..., MUST not ever be taken. In such jobs the girls are show-piece and so these jobs are Haram. Media is promoting it: If you use fair and lovely you will get a job, if you use Pantene you will get a job. This is pathetic, immoral, uncultured, and absolutely unislamic.

Merit must be the Basis

And this is no reason, i suppose, that females must not do job because they get in competition with the males. The criteria for a job must be entirely on the basis of merit. Male or female, both must be recruited on this criteria.

The preference of institutes

Yes, many institutes are prefering females, not because they will make them a show piece. They are being preferred for several other reasons. It is a general observation (a general, not a hard and fast one) that females' efficency rate is higher, they are more concentrated on their job and are less corrupted (exceptions are there definately); though they have several problems: Want to go home early, need maternity leave, need other holidays, and etc etc. They are being preferred for government jobs (income tax dept is preferring. ), in banks (besides the reason of making them a show-piece as they often do, rather mostly do it, but when they recruit a girl in hijab then the reason is different), as the President of Pakistan National Bank recently stated in his speech to the MTOs that the bank is prefering female MTOs because of their good efficency rate (Obviously females are very less in number. And prefering means that if previously there were 2 girls and 48 boys so now there will be 12 girls- just an example)

So there is no harm for a female to do a job. Rather there are several

Advantages of doing a job

It enlarges her mind. (Boost up her knowledge, exposure and expereince)

It helps her to raise the standard of her family.

It helps her to utilize her high education.

Moreover, there are

Disadvantages of not doing a job as well.

Lets suppose that a girl is highly educated but she is not doing a job and staying at home, then what will be the consequences:

a. Waste of her high education (after her parents have spend so much on her high education). She will be able to utilize it in a limited way by teaching her children but it will not be fully utilized in this manner. Will it not be wasted? So in turn the question becomes, Whether she should get a high education or not? And which can never be answered negatively because educating oneself, whether male or female, is one of the primary teachings of Islam.

b. Deprivation of an opportunity to contribute in raising the standard of life of her family although she is well-educated. It is a burden upon her body and soul that she knows, she can do, she wants to do, but she is not allowed to do it.

c. Lethargy will be the result if she does not do a job (a general observation, not a strict one as many house wives are extremely active).

A female can do a job in the same way as man can but she has certain limitations (some of them apply to men as well). Thus the question that whether she should do a job or not is entirely a matter of the type of a job.
