Imran announced Tuesday he and Jemima had divorced after nine years of marriage.
By saying "his political life had made it difficult for Jemima to adapt to life in Pakistan," the cricketer-turned-politician wasn't telling the entire truth, Mohsin contended.
"Jemima was a very young woman when she married Imran. I think she was attracted by his exotic orientalism, his popularity with British women and that he was a driven and a very focused personality.
"But living that life is very different from being romantic and interested in it from afar," Mohsin maintained.
"I think one of the reasons that Jemima found it difficult was that Imran remained a very conservative Muslim male. His life in the West made him familiar with the parties seen in the West, but his mind never really changed.
"He remained the conservative orthodox person that he always was."
Mohsin indicated things could have been different had Imran's political career taken off.
"If Imran had been a phenomenally successful politician, Jemima would have been only too happy to bask in his glory.
"He insisted that Jemima convert to Islam though there were many misgivings about the genuineness of that conversion also.
"I think she really shouldn't have converted if she wasn't sure that this was the way she wanted to go and what she wanted to be," Mohsin pointed out.
It's strange!! After being together 9 years and now finally divorced.
