pakistani 0 Posted April 20, 2004 A TRIBUTE TO SHEIKH YASSIN The Grey sky over Palestine appeared somber as it reflected the tragedy, which was about to unfold beneath it. The brutality, which shattered the peace of a serene neighborhood, stunned the world. It all began when a group of devout worshippers emerged from the sanctity of a Musjid where they had spent the entire night in supplicating to their Creator. Unaware of the evil, which was lurking outside, they happily walked out of their place of worship, gratified and content. The chirping of the birds which normally signal the dawning of a new day was unpleasantly muffled by the fierce sounds of three missiles. The unimaginable carnage created an atmosphere so cold yet so warm. One by one, dazed men emerged from behind closed doors, steadily streaming from every direction, to the awaiting scenes of total destruction which appeared like a nightmare. Tense moments ticked by painfully and slowly, until the reality struck. The reality of yet more Palestinians who paid the price for a just and noble cause. The sacred land which usually bear the weight of heavily footed Zionist soldiers as they occupy, loot, humiliate and torture it`s inhabitants, soon found itself stained with the sweet smelling blood of a saintly human being who once graced the same land. This sacred piece of land will bear testimony to the brutality of the beastly human beings at whose hands a great hero of Palestine was martyred. The divine scent of musk will forever linger in the air over an ailing yet determined Nation. Minutes seemed like hours before the golden rays of the rising sun reluctantly forced it`s way through the melancholy, as if it too was disgraced and ashamed by the human brutality. Quiet moments suddenly erupted in anger, fear and chaos as teardrops began mingling with the early morning dew over the blood of the martyrs. Confusion reigned as people scrambled in disbelief trying to absorb the magnitude of the genocide. The wheelchair which once carried a helpless man, now lay at the side of the cold, hard pavement in a mangled wreck. Bewildered men clung dearly to the remains of a brave leader. The only remains which bore testimony to the devastation, were shoes, which once protected the blessed feet of an icon unmatched. The ghastly shrapnel strewn around the blessed land was evident of the destructive missiles which ravaged the area and this revealed the cold reality of what had just occurred. As the horror of the aftermath slowly began sinking into the hearts and minds of millions, they spontaneously left their homes in pain and anger. The steady flow of mourners emerging from alleys and walkways, like tributaries of a river, eventually meeting with the mainstream of mourners who marched united in one direction like a torrent gushing forth in full force and fiery. The echoes of thousands of mourners chanting and wailing in grief and sorrow reverberated in the wind as the brave heroes were taken to their final resting-places. Moments after the martyrs were laid to rest, an eerie calm and silence enveloped the air over all Palestinian territory as mourners bid an agonizing, final farewell to their beloved and revered spiritual leader, guide and mentor. As condemnation and disbelief poured forth from the Four Corners of the earth, a handful of inhuman and evil beasts rejoiced at their prized trophy. Little did they know that they had fulfilled the lifelong wish and desire of a remarkable human being. Little do they know that it is impossible to defeat a Nation and a people who do not fear death but who welcome death with open arms? Little do they know that the Truth shall prevail and justice will surely be served. Little do they know that Sheikh Ahmed Yassin`s journey into the next world will never go in vain and little do they know that although they have killed a man, they can never ever kill an ideology and Sheikh Yassin`s ideology is deeply ingrained in the hearts of every Palestinian man, woman and child who has vowed to live up to Sheikh Yassin`s ideology until they themselves are martyred! Inna-lillahi-wa-inna-ilaihi-rajioon Surely to Allah we belong and surely to Him we shall return May The Almighty grant Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and all the other brave soldiers of Islam who have been martyred, the highest stages of Paradise.
