::GAWADAR PORT::

Gwadar Port is a deep-sea, warm-water port situated at Gwadar in Balochistan province of Pakistan at the apex of the Arabian Sea and at the entrance of the Persian Gulf, about 460 km west of Karachi and approximately 75 km east of Pakistan's border with Iran. The port is located at

The Port is located on the eastern bay of a natural hammer-head protrusion of land jutting out into the Arabian Sea from Pakistan's Makran coastline.

The Port is being constructed in two phases with heavy investment from China. Technical and financial feasibility studies were commenced by Pakistan in 1993 but construction did not start until 2002 when the Port of Singapore Authority was hired for its management.

Gwadar Port became operational in 2008, with the first ship to dock bringing 52000 tonnes of wheat from Canada. Minister of Ports and Shipping Sardar Nabil Ahmed Khan Gabol officially inaugurated the port on 21 December 2008.

::PORT QASIM::

The Port Muhammad Bin Qasim (Urdu: بندر گاہ محمد بن قاسم), also known as Port Qasim, is a seaport in Karachi, Pakistan on the coastline of the Arabian Sea. It is Pakistan's second busiest port, handling about 35% of the nation's cargo (17 million tons per annum). Port Qasim and Karachi Port, the busiest port of country, together handle more than 90% of all external trade of Pakistan.

The port encompasses a total area of 12,000 acres wherein many industrial zones operate. In addition to the Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) and KESC Bin Qasim Power Plant, around 80% of the Pakistan's automotive industry is located at Port Qasim. The port also provides direct waterfront access to two major nearby industrial areas, Export Processing Zone (Landhi) and Korangi Industrial Area. Approximately 60% of country's export and import is originated from these areas. Port Qasim is managed by Port Qasim Authority, a semi-autonomous government body.

Port Qasim is located, adjacent to the Bin Qasim town, in the southern part of Malir district, Karachi division, in Sindh. It is located in an old channel of the Indus River at a distance of 35 kilometers east of Karachi city center.

The geographic position of the Port Qasim places it in close proximity to major shipping routes. The approach to the port is along a 45-kilometre long Navigation Channel which provides safe navigation for vessels up to 75,000 metric tons deadweight (DWT).

Location of the Port Qasim makes it very well connected to the transportation infrastructure of the country. It is at distance of only 15 km from the national highway, providing direct access to the hinterland through road. Further 14kms of railway track inside the terminal links it to the national railway network through 6 railway tracks. Jinnah International Airport is also very near, at a distance of 22 km.

Port Qasim's residential area is a neighborhood of Bin Qasim Town of Karachi.

::ORMARA PORT::

Ormara (Urdu: اورمارا) is a port city (25° 16' 29N 64° 35' 10E) located in the Makran or coastal region of Balochistan Province in Pakistan. It is located 240 km west of Karachi and 230 km east of Gwadar on the Arabian Sea. This port is also mentioned in Periplus of the Erythraean Sea as Oraea.

Pasni (Balochi: پسنی ) is a medium-sized town and a fishing port in Gwadar, Balochistan, Pakistan. Its population is around 33.000

It is located on the Makran coast on Arabian Sea about 300 km from Karachi. Administratively, Pasni is the headquarters of the Pasni sub-division of Gwadar district that includes Pasni and Ormara Tehsils (tehsil - county) as well as Astola Island which lies 40km ESE of Pasni, in the Arabian Sea.

::KARACHI PORT TRUST(KPT)::

Karachi Port Trust (KPT) is a Pakistani federal government agency that oversees the operations of the Port of Karachi in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.

History

Between 1880 and 1887, the port was administered by the Karachi Harbour Board. The Karachi Port Trust was then established by the Act IV of 1886, effective from 1 April 1887.[1]

Karachi Port Trust (KPT) is widely regarded as the nation's lifeline. It handles 70% of Pakistan's import and export trade. As such, its performance impacts manifold aspects of nation's activities. As a corollary, KPT's charges have a tremendous impact on the country's economy.
