Abu_Hanzala 2 Posted May 15, 2006 Assalamoalikum.... Help needed I formatted and installed Windows XP on my home machine. All is well except no sound. Device Manager shows Multimedia Audio Controller is not installed. I have no idea what driver I need. Under sound/video, etc.it shows several audio components including Audio Codecs, Legacy Audio Drivers, WDM TVAudio, all listed as working properly. Do I have to pull my sound card to find out the manufacturer info? I built this machine a long time back and I don't have any of the CD's that it could need. I've tried using Windows update and there is no driver available. The only lovely sound I get is the "beep" , which is even more annoying than the Yahoo Instant Messenger sounds! Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
MuhammadAmjadIqbal 0 Posted September 25, 2007 Salam Alykum, I know it's too late, but may be someone else gets benefit. Purchase a whole CD of drivers (or just Sound Card drivers) and from the Device Manager, choose the option to scan the whole CD. Most probably, it'll find a closely matching driver for your audio device. This way, you'll at least be able to listen to sounds, although full features might not be available.
