Waqas 48 Posted May 25, 2009 ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday said that Pakistan was fighting terrorism for its own survival. The president expressed these views, while speaking to visiting US senators Mark Warner, Patrick Leahy and Sheldon Whitehouse, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr here on Monday. Washington’s ambassador to Islamabad Anne W. Patterson was also present in the meeting. The president said that Pakistan would continue its serious efforts for the restoration of peace in the world and to flush out terrorism and extremism from the country.
