Waqas 48 Posted May 26, 2009 HARIPUR: At least three police personnel were killed while two sustained injuries in a firing incident on a police mobile van carried out by unknown militants here in Malkiyar area early on Tuesday, Geo news reported. According to sources, the miscreants succeeded to flee the crime scene after the incident while the deceased police personnel were identified as constable Imran, Azmat and Rasheed, police sources said. The DPO Muhammad Hussain and DSP Mahmood Khan arrived on the spot and cordoned off the entire area lodging search operation, sources added. Police also said they were skeptical weather or not the ambush was carried out by Taliban as an Afghan national had earlier been arrested in Haripur and arms were also seized from his possession, sources doubted.
