Militants commander among 12 killed in Swat operation

RAWALPINDI: ISPR Wednesday said that 12 miscreants-terrorists were killed in various areas of Swat during exchange of fire with security forces, while 1 soldier embraced Shahdat and 3 soldiers were injured.

Security forces continued with cordon and search operation and cleared/ destroyed the strongholds of miscreants in Peochar. Two soldiers were injured during clash with miscreants.

ISPR said the security forces have made considerable progress in Mingora Town where house-to-house search is in progress in most of the areas.

During search operation 8 miscreants-terrorists were apprehended from Nishat Chowk, while 1 soldier was wounded.

Four civil truck load of relief items was distributed to the stranded people of Mingora. Mingora city will be cleared of militants in next 2-3 days but return of IDPs to the city will depend upon restoration of electricity, water and other services.

Kanju-Kabal road has been cleared and intense fighting is continuing for securing of Kabal.

Security forces have secured their positions at Madyan, Bagh Derai and Kala kot, Sakhra Valley and important heights west of Fathepur.

An important miscreants commander, Irfan Ullah was killed yesterday during the operation in Malam Jabba, 3 miscreants’ dead bodies and huge cache of arms was recovered, while 1 soldier embraced Shahadat.

Militants - terrorists are attacking / snatching the relief items being despatched for the stranded people of Bharain, Madyan and Kalam. 300 vehicles of provisions moved to Shangla, Khawazakhela, Bahrain, Madyan and Kalam.
