Waqas 48 Posted May 29, 2009 RAWALPINDI: Military spokesman Maj-Gen Athar Abbas Friday said that the armed forces were advancing close to the scenic Kalam valley. In an interview, Director General Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) said that forces would soon enter Kalam. He said that forces were severing the supply lines of the militants also. He said that security forces carried out bombardment on the militants’ training centers. And added that the insurgents, who were on run, were also being chased. The spokesman said that forces were making sure that militants could not return to the areas cleared of them. To a question, he said that people could better identify the insurgents. “We are appealing for the help of local people against the militants,” Abbas said.
