Meeri 0 Posted August 12, 2009 The Quranic references were true but they don't tell anything about 15th of Sha'ban. I wish you could share the references of mentioned hadeeth too because as per what I've read, there's no special importance on 15th Sha'ban as per VALID references. there r a few weak or fabricated ahadeeth that cannot be relied upon. e.g. there r hadith of Ibne Majah and Bayhaqi pointing out that all the decrees of life and death, rizq and other numerous issues (including Angel Gibrael coming down with blessings of Allah) made on this very 15th of Sha'ban, whereas, Qur'an in Surah Qadar (esp verse 4) tells that such decrees are made and Gibrael descending on the night in which Qur'an was revealed (i.e. Shabb-e-Qadar). There r several other verses mentioning Qur'an to be revealed in Ramadhan. Moreover, 15th of Sha'ban is only celebrated only in India and Pakistan. So, its a doubtful issue.
