Waqas 48 Posted February 6, 2010 GUJRAT: At least 13 people were killed and several others wounded when two armed groups exchanged fire in Gujrat on Saturday. According to police, the gunbattle took place in Sheikhpur Sariya village located in the limit of Kakrali police station. Gujrat Acting DPO Afzal Virk said that the incident was a result of old enmity between two notorious groups. He said Muhamma Akram urf Labbu group had an old enmity with another Nadeem urf Deema group of his village over murders of five people. Muhammad Akram was working on his tube-well when the armed men of Deema group opened indiscriminate firing on them. As a result, he along with his three sons was killed. This led to a gunbattle between both groups, resulting in killing of nine others. The assailants then fled the scene after the attack.
