We canÂ’t say Parliament is ineffective, says PM

11-3-2010_73797_l.gifISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani Wednesday said that the incumbent parliament has done unprecedented amount of legislation, thus, it would be incorrect to call it ‘ineffective’.In his address in the National Assembly, the Prime Minister said the present made amendments in 101 article of the Constitution, terming it an uphill task.He said all matters, ranging from price hike to strategic dialogue, can be debated in the lower house but there is a prescribed procedure for that.On a point of order raised by Pakistan Muslim League-Q’s Akram Masih Gul, Gilani said matter of inclusion of minority members in the Implementation Committee of the 18th Amendment will be discussed with Raza Rabbani.
