Waqas 48 Posted November 6, 2010 LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif Saturday hoped that US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter would play his role toward bringing the peoples of the two countries closer.The new US ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter accompanied by her wife, US Consul General, Carmela Conroy called on PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif at his residence here in Raiwind.Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Opposition Leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali and Ishaq Dar were also present on the occasion.Shahbaz Sharif expressed his gratitude to the US government for its financial support for the flood-stricken people of Pakistan.Camero Munter, on the occasion, conveyed a message of goodwill from his government to Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz SharifHe said the United States deemed Pakistan a trusted ally and friend and that it would continue to stand by Pakistan in a time of trial.
