Waqas 48 Posted January 20, 2011 KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik Thursday disclosed that the assassins of Geo News reporter Wali Khan Babar had been identified and the authorities were very close to nabbing the culprits.He said this during his visit to Geo News office along with Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister, Waqar Mehdi and Pakistan People’s Party Karachi President Najmi Alam.Rehman Malik expressed condolence with the Geo’s administration and senior journalists on the ‘Shahadat’ of Wali Khan Babar.“The arrested suspects are of commander-level people and they, if not held, could have attacked (National) Assembly,” the Interior Minister said adding many key politicians were also their targets.He also recalled his meetings with Wali Khan Babar when the latter covered former’s events. “Wali Khan Babar was a dedicated reporter and an asset of the country,” he added.
