SC conducts hearing against rejection of judgesÂ’ extension

ISLAMABAD: A four-member bench of Supreme Court (SC) headed by Justice M A Shahid Siddique on Thursday conducted the hearing of petitions filed against rejection of four Lahore High CourtÂ’s Additional JudgesÂ’ nominations for one-year tenure extension by Parliamentary Committee, Geo News reported.Relevant Parliamentary Committee had rejected four out of Lahore High CourtÂ’s 24 Additional JudgesÂ’ nominations for one year tenure extension.During the hearing Attorney General said that he himself was the part of judicial commission, therefore, he could not appear in this case. He further said that parliamentary committee has yet to present recommendations in judgesÂ’ nomination.It may be noted here that no one appeared in the court to represent the said committee.
