3-6-2011_79035_l.jpgISLAMABAD: Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party and President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed grave concerned over the indictment of Federal Law Minister Babar Awan in the case of robbery and kidnapping, Geo News reported Sunday.Presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar said this in a statement.“Action on the 12-year old politically motivated case by the Punjab prosecution is very unfortunate,” President Asif Ali Zardari regretted, terming it as a clear example of misuse of the legal system, the statement further said. It said the case was filed long ago when Babar Awan was the counsel of Asif Zardari. The PPP Co-Chairman is now hoping that the civil society, lawyers associations and liberal people will take notice of this serious issue. He also hoped that the ‘misuse of legal process for gaining political advantage will be condemned’.“Pakistan People’s Party is standing along with all the party workers who rendered sacrifices for the cause of democracy and human rights,” the PPP Co-Chairman assured. The case of robbery and kidnapping against Babar Awan is being heard by a court in Rawalpindi.Dr Babar Awan, who was present in the court during the hearing on Saturday, denied all charges. However, the court framed a charge sheet against the Federal Law Minister Babar Awan and adjourned the case for recording statements of witnesses till March 12.
