Govt donÂ’t want confrontation among institutions: Gilani

3-14-2011_79327_l.jpgISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that some elements were trying to initiate confrontation among national institutions, adding that incumbent government respects independent judiciary and democratic institution within the limits of constitution, Geo News reported on Monday.Chairing the meeting of federal cabinet here, PM Gilani reiterated that government did not want confrontation with any of the institution.He further said that the present government respects independent judiciary besides accepting its verdicts. The Chief Justice of Pakistan has endorsed this in his own remarks despite that the government was party in that case, Gilani added.The Prime Minister stated that federal cabinet unanimously rejects the impression of confrontation with any institution.The Prime Minister and the cabinet members expressed profound grief and expressed solidarity with the Japanese people over the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami that reportedly killed over 10,000 people and rendered thousands homeless.‘The government and the people of Pakistan share grief, agony and sorrow of the government and people of Japan,” the Prime Minister said. He said Pakistan was assessing the situation and will provide any assistance, possible within its means. (GEO URDU)
