Twitter Reaction to Tropical Storm Irene: Relief

The Twitterverse heaved a collective sigh of relief when morning turned into afternoon today, as the collective mood moved almost into the giddy range as people realized Tropical Storm Irene was not nearly as bad as many had anticipated.

Here’s a sampling from Twitter, where people realized that although the storm is not quite over yet — there’s a significant amount of cleanup and commuting problems ahead — for most, the storm amounted to a lot of worry and anticipation and little impact:
