One Day On Earth Film Greenlit Through 2015

Recommended Posts

Brandon Litmann, producer of the One Day on Earth project, took the stage at Mashable‘s Social Good Summit to talk about how his film connects people around the world. He was joined by Boaz Paldi, head of Video Unit at the UN Development Programme, whose department helped back the film.

One Day on Earth is a film recorded during a 24-hour period throughout every country in the world. The goal is not to just make a movie about diversity but to show real people’s lives by collecting user-submitted and independently filmed scenes in pseudo-documentary style.

Litmann said that the project has been greenlit to make a similar film each year until 2015. He has also put a collection of the footage online for free download so that users can not only view the clips but can create their own videos and collages.

The film is one step for One Day on Earth in its mission to explore the world’s cultures and the social ties that bind them.
