Google Starts 'video Blogging'

Recommended Posts

Search engine firm Google is to begin an experiment in "video blogging", according to co-founder Larry Page.

Google's interest in blogging - web logging - stems back to 2003 when it bought popular blog site, Blogger.com

Video blogging - vlogging - is still a new phenomenon but is expected to take off as web space becomes cheaper - or even free - and digital cameras become ever more sophisticated. There are a number of websites which already offer vlogging services, but video blogging remains in an embryonic stage.

"In the next few days, we're actually going to start taking video submissions from people, and we're not quite sure what we're going to get, but we decided we'd try this experiment," said Mr Page.

The Google Video upload program is already here, below is something from the Google Video Upload Program FAQ section

The upload program lets you submit videos electronically to Google Video, as long as you own the necessary rights (including copyrights, trademarks, rights of publicity, and any other relevant rights for your content). Just sign up for an account and use our upload tool to send your videos to Google. The program is still in beta so you won't see your videos live on Google Video immediately.

Check out the Google Video upload program here, as they say;

We're accepting digital video files of any length and size. Simply sign up for an account and upload your videos using our Video Uploader
