Asim 0 Posted January 23, 2003 On Hotmail, when you do not signin atleast once in a month they deactivate your account and then after some time they delete your ID making it available for others to register. If you do not use a Yahoo account for more then 2 months they deactivate it. If you do not try to reactivate it they delete your ID and NO one can regsiter it even after many many years. That's y u receive JUNK emails on your Hotmail ID even after signing up a new ID and never giving it to anyone. That's why I prefer Yahoo over Hotmail. The main reason people use Hotmail in Pakistan is because of its messenger but there is a way you can use your Yahoo id on MSN Messenger. There are a few other features too that Highlight Yahoo over Hotmail. I'll try to list them all here. 1) Yahoo gives you a BIG 4 MB (on @yahoo.com) and 6 MB (on yahoo.co.uk) account. Hotmail gives you 2 MB. 2) You can access yahoo thru your Outlook Express thru POP3 Hotmail lacks POP3 If anyone has any other point do let me know Asim Zeeshan Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
mavra 0 Posted January 23, 2003 I also prefer yahoo because it has really some advantages over hotmail.As you described but you can't block somebody's ID on yahoo without opening the mails while it is possible in hotmail. mavra 0 Posted January 23, 2003 I just remembered yahoo's drawback.It doesn't have any privacy.When you go to chat rooms your e mail address is known but in hotmail chat rooms your e mail address is private & you can change your nicks too whereas it isn't possible in yahoo. POP3 is a gr8 service as it allows you to download all emails onto your hard drive without even logging onto your Yahoo mailbox from the browser.
