NaDaN 0 Posted March 15, 2004 The properties and characteristics of a particular member of the plastics family, PET (polyethylene terephthalate), causes carbonated drinks to bubble more in plastic cups. PET, a clear, strong polymer, has unsurpassed gas and moisture barrier properties. Its ability to contain carbon dioxide makes it the plastic, and the material of choice for carbonated beverage containers. PET containers have no competition in retaining carbon dioxide, the gas responsible for the effervescent, bubbling effect. The property that gives rise to a vast number of bubbles is the unique barrier layers, which prevent the loss of carbonation. The barrier layers serve to keep the container airtight, which keeps the carbon dioxide from leaking out, and oxygen from entering. So Fatma do u want a scientific answer to ur question or a simple answer? Well If mirror wasn't invented, we wud have never been able to see/ visualize ourselves or work on our physics.. eg makeup.. There wudn't have been any gharoor or no stuck up ppl.. no pride based on beauty.. and our actions wud count more than the physical part... fati 0 Posted March 18, 2004 hmmm... nice reply okky... yeah thats the main point.. v wont b proud of our looks... but still others can see us. for them perhaps still our appearance count more.... it will b really difficult for one to decide about his/her mate..... often people choose by keeping their own looks in mind. so when one cant see ownself. then a tough job it will be hmm. and about makeup... no makeup.. and if someone would do.. they'll look like a joker. atleast i cant do it without a mirror... :D no mirror, no dressing table.. there would b a lot of savings and what about in scientific respect... I mean they dun have to worry abt makeup.. hopefully Scientific reason I dunno but heres one more I just thought of.. u know convex and concave mirrors .. there are certain purposes to those types.. fati 0 Posted March 21, 2004 from scientific point of view.. v perhaps wont suffer much. but still there'll b a loss as mirrors r being used in many devices.. as u said ooky about concave mirrors and convex mirrors.. other mirrors like spherical , ellipsoidal, parabolic and cylindrical r also used . mirrors r used in telescopes.. mirrors r used in solar furnaces for focussing.. and i read somewhere that mirrors r being used in heating and cooling systems.... mirrors/reflectors are used for signaling also and a very imp. use.. like u said okky in cars.. to drive a vehicle, mirror is as important as a driver.. :) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

cute_ooky 0 Posted March 30, 2004 to keep sweat away.. I mean u dun want the sweat dripping onto ur eyes.. So in order to protect out eyes, God made eye brows.. Hmm another reason... Just like an umbrella keeps our bodies dry from the rain, our hairy eyebrows keep our eyes dry from rain or sweat. When it's pouring rain outside or when sweat drips down from our foreheads, our eyebrows divert the flow of water or sweat away from our eyes.
