It is beter to offer 2 rakaat pray where in first rakat recite sura Fateha one time and sura Kafiroon 3 times. In second rakat, recite sura Fateha one time and sura Ikhlaas 3 times. Hence we don't have to mourn anything and should keep on celeberating the occassion because it has given us the great and uncomparable prophet due to whom, Allah has and will bestow us so much that we can't even count or think of.
