Well ! I have a looooonngg list of my fav classics, but now Im telling u a few … to let u know this topic ’s comprehensive n not as much complex as it seems to be in first view.

Fav Classical Movies; Mughal-a-Azam, Anarkali, Pakeeza, Dewdas(original Dewdas, I don’t like it’s re-make), Lawrence of Arabia, The lost world, n in War movies I like “Saving Private Ryanâ€( having5 academy awards) & “The Thin Red Line†(having 7 academy awards)

I like Classic Stories of “Last Samurai†, “Gladiator†, “The Messenger(story of st. Joan of Arc)†n “Troy†which r messed in the form of films

Fav Classical Music; In classical singers I like Tina Sani, Neera Noor, Mehdi Hassan, Nusrat Fatah Ali Khan, Lata, Kishore, Asha, Rafi, Umm-a-Kalsoom(Egyptian) n a Persian Musician Majeed Nizami.

I luv instrumental music more than songs, I luv almost all sort of music except jazz n blues(though these have been very popular).

I like rumba (mambo), rock, hard rock , punk rock, Spanish folk, Turkish n Punjabi folk music.

In instruments I like oboe, Piano, Violin, Vina n Flute …

In Classical Musicians I like Ludwig van Beethoven (his 2 piano sonatas, and 16 string quartets r superb), Johann Sebastian Bach , Louis Hector Berlioz, Brahms & Mozart.

My fav symphonies r “Fantastique†by Berlioz, “A midsummer night’s dream†by Felix, Beethoven’s Symphony no 8, Mozart’s symphony no 40(in G minor), “The New World†by Dvořak

n many more….

You mention many other names that I don't think they are Classical Singers or in other words pure classical. I think they are semi classical.

I like some of them like, Tina Sani, Nayara Noor, Nusrat. Abida parveen (previous four are my most favorite), Iqbal Bano, Munni begum, Gulam Ali, Mehdi hassan,

In Indian -----> Mukesh is my all time fav. Kishore, Lata

Punjabi-------------> Saiful Malook ( I always love to hear qlam of Mian Muhammad Bakhs), Baba bullhay Shah, Sultan Baho.

Well in English ------------> not much but if you consider them as Classics as many young ones think .......... Michael Bolton, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi. Like Rock and Metal but I think they are not Classics, atleast at the moment.

Symphonies................ Only Heard of them ......lolz :D

Uhmmm did u watched real Devdas? It’s an old Black n White movie, Deleep Kumaar is hero in it. It’s really classical…but its remake is not.

Mussolini …full name Mussolini, Benito Amilcaro Andrea…founder of Italian fascist party in 1919 and served as prime minister from 1922 to 1943….he brought Italy into World war II…. formed an alliance with Germany in 1939…n murdered in 1943….That’s all I know about him… I’ve read an article about him only.

My reason of liking them is their hatred for Jews… u may call me prejudiced but I really hate Jews just because they hate Muslims intensely, more than Hindus n Christians.

yes, this is what I was thinking :angel: , Ashfaq Ahmed baba Jee , I love his writing and yes He wrote a lot about Love, that keeps on changing from aik Mohabbat So afsaanay to Man Chalay ka Saoda . I like the later part of his thinking and writngs.

Yes, I never said they are Classics, but I like them and said that many of my friends think of them as classics, and I like there slow side music, except Summer of 69.

I’ve read the translation of these Persian poets’ kalam along with original Farsi text.

I’m not good at Persian, still I’m learning it….. but I can read some easy poetry n text with the help of Farsi Dictionary…. My father too, is learning Persian…. But his Persian is much better than mine. n I’ll say if u have an opportunity to learn Persian by ur father then y don’t u learn it from ur father it’ll be easier than u learn it from some teacher.

Persian is much similar to Urdu n is very easy to learn for those ppl who r good at Urdu coz it contains so many Persians words n phrases.

If u wanna read rubaiyat of Omer Khayyam n Hafiz Shirazi I can give a website’s link…. It also has it’s translations in English n German. There is also links of Rumi, Devan-a-Hafiz, Shahriar Shahriari n Zarathushtra in it.

Of course u r not the only person here who luves studying history…. I hope I’ll find more ppl here who seek the mysteries of ancient histories….

N u r right,,,it’s very good to find the persons who have same school of thoughts n interests which u have. It’s a hard to find but not impossible. I’ve got such ppl in my social circle…..most of them r professors, research scholars or those who r preparing for or passed CSS exams. It’s a great joy to discuss different topics n interests among them, we put out of our mind how the time’s passing so fast.

Discussion is like maze once u r lost in it it’s hard to find way out.

Uhmmm ……I can’t enjoy hindi movies…… for me….. these r nothing but over exposing of emotions, totally ridiculous love stories & unreal flaunt of sentiments…… I wonder how do u like them?!?!

well i am fasinate dby indian movies its just these movies which have hit me a lot especially devdas, n satta u can sat a person have certain blv's n he likes to c himself with those blv's n wants to know their end but life is not as fast as a movie ,wht u can leran form movie is the good and bad aspects of those blv's and in those movies i saw these things that is y i am inspired by those movies. apart from that u must have read about the movies i like of western origin. we can have a detailed discussion but again this is not the forum, if life gave us a chance we will sit together n hav discussion abt it.
