Ramadhaan Mubarak

Recommended Posts

Dear CooLYar Users,

Ramdhan is the 9th Month of Islamic Calendar. The month of Ramadan comes once each year giving every fasting Muslim a spiritual and physical improvement which lasts until the following year.

Fasting in the month of Ramadhan is amongst the fundamentals of Islaam; one who denies its obligation goes out of the fold of Islam. One who does not fast during this month is a faasiq (an immoral and flagrant transgressor) of the highest degree. Such a faasiq completely destroys his spirituality and morality.

Ramdhan by Quran:

Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was revealed with clear guidance and differentiation (Between Good and Bad) Whoever of you is a witness of this month, should fast. But if anyone is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put you in any difficulties. 2:185

And eat and drink, until the white thread of dawn appears to you distinct from it’s black thread; then complete your fast till the night appears. 2:187

Ramdhan by Haidth Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W)

1- Whenever you sight the new moon (of the month of Ramadan) observe fast, and when you sight it (the new moon of Shawwal) break it, and if the sky is cloudy for you, then observe fast for thirty days.

2- Observe fast when you see it (the new moon) and break fast when you see it (the new moon of Shawwal), but when (the actual position of the month is) concealed from you (on account of cloudy sky), then count thirty days.

There are 5 Important lessons, which we learn by Ramdhaan;

1- Gaining Taqwaa

2- Seeking Nearness to Allah

3- Acquiring Patience

4- Cultivating Good Manners

5- Sensing Muslim Unity

Once again, we have a chance for getting rewards from Allah. It’s the time that we break all other activities for this month and Pray for us, our parents, teachers, friends, Muslim umma, country and Islam.

Remember in your Prayers

Best Regrads,

The CooLYar Team

Countdown for Ramadaan Begins

The Countdown for Ramadaan Begins. The countdown has already begun. Less than a week

remains for the arrival of Holy Ramadaan.

The very name of Ramadaan evokes a feeling of expectant joy and pleasure in the heart of the

Mu'min. A restlessness overtakes the Mu'min in eager anticipation of the Holy month.

Sometimes, this feeling even turns to fear and anxiety.

"O Allah, will I see Ramadaan this year?"

Allah alone knows who will live to see Ramadaan.

The reassurance comes in the form of a fervent Dua,

"O Allah bless us in Rajab and Sha'baan and let us make it to Ramadaan."

The Dua for this must continue with vigorous fervour -

"O Allah! Let us reach Ramadaan.!"

The anticipation of this great month is not just a matter of emotion and thought.

It requires action and activity. Preparation for receiving the honourable guest of Ramadaan must

start in earnest right away.

Where do I start?

What am I to do?

Well, a good starting point can be to spare a bit of time daily for preparation of Ramadaan.

A person needs to start by making adjustments to the current lifestyle. The daily timetable must

be altered, allowing more time for spiritual rejuvenation.

Can I take out quality time from my present busy lifestyle?

How much of time and when?

Sit down and work it out.

Maybe half an hour before Fajr and another half-hour before going to bed?

Or will half an hour before and after Isha be more appropriate?

Whatever it may be, at least an hour out of 24 hours must be set aside with discipline and consistency

from today onwards.

This is time dedicated to Allah and Allah alone. Unless for an emergency, no intrusion in this time

must be allowed - no phone calls or other distractions. This time should be spent in developing a

strong bond of love and affinity with the Noble Qur'an, with Dua and Zikr. A lot of time must be

spent in introspection and self-appraisal.

What is my current state of Islam?

Strong or weak?

What are my main weaknesses?

How do I overcome these?

Who do I turn to for spiritual help and guidance?

Deep, soul-searching questions have to be posed. This is one of the highest form of Ibadah. It is

the Ibadah of Fikr or Tafakkur, a moment of which equals many years of Nafl Ibadah.

Finally, all the "T's" of Ramadaan Shareef must be keptin mind so that when Ramadaan comes,

"everything is to the T!". These "T's" are:

Tilawah,

Tahajjud,

Taraweeh,

Tasbeehat,

Tadharru' (fervent Dua),

Tatawwu' (Nafil Ibadah),

Tasahhur (eating Sehri),

Taubah (repentance),

Tawadhu (humility) and

Tafakkur (contemplation).

May Allah Ta'ala make this Ramadaan a turning point in the life of the long-suffering Ummah.

Ameen.

Ramdan Mubarak :flower:

Blessings of the month of Ramadhanul Mubarak

Fasting is the fourth pillar of Islam. The word "Sawm " (meaning to stop or abstain) is used in Arabic for fasting. A fast then means that one refrains from eating, drinking and other physical things (all those things that are otherwise allowed) from dawn to sunset. This month comes every year to spread the blessings and mercy of Allah. We are thankful to Allah for providing physical forms of divine worship such as prayer, fasting, and pilgrimage to improve our moral and spiritual condition.

Welcoming the Month of Ramadhan: The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has said: "The month of Ramadhan comes to you. This is a blessed month" (Kitab-ul-Saum). The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has declared this month as the "month of Allah" because one abandons all otherwise "lawful" things in the way of Allah. He has also declared this month as the "Chief of the months." Worship during this month gains more blessings so one should fast with sincere intentions and worship should be performed to win Allah's pleasure.

Ramadhan - Anniversary of the Holy Quran: Ramadhan is that blessed month in which the Holy Quran was first revealed to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). In this regard this month celebrates the birthday of the Holy Quran. To render our dues we should recite the Holy Quran as much as possible. During this month, at night, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) use to recite the Holy Quran in its entirety with the Angel Gabriel (Jibraeel).

Opening the doors to heaven:

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) has narrated that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When the month of Ramadhan starts, the doors of heaven are opened, the doors of the hell are closed, and Satan is put into chains" (Sahih Muslim Kitab-ulSaum). In this saying the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has promised a high place in heaven for one who observess the fast because a believer is enjoined to perform such deeds that please Allah and stay away from bad things.

Ramadhan's Special relationship with Tahajjud Prayers:

Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "A person who gets up at night for Prayer and fulfills all requirements of his faith with an intention of receiving blessing during the Month of Ramadhan, is forgiven all his past sins."

Charity during Ramadhan:

Ibn Abbas relates that the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, was the most generous of men and he was at his most bountiful during Ramadhan when Gabriel visited him every night and recited the Quran to him. During this period the bounty of the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, waxed faster than the rain-bearing breeze (Bokhari and Muslim).

Prayers:

Allah forgives all previous sins of a person who sincerely worships Allah during the month of Ramadhan. During this month Allah's mercy and blessings are at their peak. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has said that during Ramadhan: "Allah says: 'Is there anyone who calls on me so that I can accept his prayers? Is there anyone who asks for anything so that I can fulfill his desires? Is there anyone who asks for forgiveness so that I can forgive" (Sahih Bukhafi - Kitab-ul-Tauheed).

Last Ten days of Ramadhan:

Hazrat Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that, during the month of Ramadhan, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to develop a new vigor, staying awake alI night and also waking members of his family for worship" (Sahih Bukhail, Kitab-ul-Saum). During the month of Ramadhan worship reaches its peak in the form of I'tikaaf (retirement for Allah's worship). The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to retire to the Mosque in the last ten days of the Ramadhan. He would go to a corner in the Masjid-e-Nabwee (Prophet's Mosque) to worship Allah in seclusion.

Ramadhan and Lailatul Qadr (Night of Decree):

Hazrat Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O Allah's Prophet, if I know which night is the Lailatul Qadr then what should I pray? He replied: 'you should pray: 'O Allah, you are very forgiving and love those who forgive others. So bestow your blessings on me and forgive me"' (Jamiah Tirmidhi, Kitab-Al-Dawat). Lailatul Qadr is such a night that the Holy Quran has declared it to be better than a thousand months. May Allah enable us to be the recipients of Lailatul Qadr that we truly benefit from the coming month of Ramadhan. May Allah accept our prayers. Ameen.

O Allah. I am asking for your protection against the Day when nothing like wealth or children will be of use and only that person will benefit who will come with a pure heart.

And I am asking for your protection against the day when a wrong doer will be biting the back of his hands in regret and will be saying, "Oh I wish I had chosen the way chosen by the Prophet .

And I am asking you for your protection against the Day when sinners will be known by their faces, and will be taken by their hair and feet.

And I am asking you for your protection against the day when a father will not serve instead of his son nor will a son be punished instead of his father for anything, since Allah has promised thus and His promise is true.

And I am asking for your protection against the Day when apologising of the wrongdoers will not do them any good and because of that they will be cursed and will be put in the evil abode of Hell.

And I am asking for your protection against the Day when nobody will have control over anybody and the power will belong to Allah on that Day.

And I am asking for your protection against the Day when a person will run away from his brother, his mother, his father, his wife and children. That Day every person will have what he has earned for himself.

And I am asking for your protection against the Day when the sinner would wish that he could ransom the wrath of Allah descending on him at that time with his children, his wife, his brother and his relatives who gave him shelter and all those on earth, so that he be saved. No, never can he escape the wrath of Allah which will be in the form of burning fire roasting him.

Poem for Ramadan

Ramadan is here, Here is Ramadan.

Ramadan is coming, The time that is blessed.

Ramadan is coming, The time we love best.

The month in which the Qur'an was sent;

A time of great blessing in which to repent.

Fasting for Allah is a great Muslim deed;

Controlling desires and Suppressing greed.

Ramadan is coming, Increase your Iman.

Ramadan is coming, Recite the Qur'an.

Taking "Suhur" in the dead of the Night;

No eating no drinking during the daylight.

Refrain from bad deeds and repent your soul;

The pleasure of Allah is our only goal.

Ramadan is coming, so let us prepare.

Ramadan is coming; there is peace everywhere,

Even if there is hunger, remember your Lord

And wait until 'Iftar' to earn your reward.

Fasting is one of the gifts of Allah

Given to believers to increase 'Taqwah'.

Ramadan is here, here is Ramadan.

Ramadan is coming, so seek the new Moon.

Ramadan is coming, it will be here soon.

We pray to Allah to put right our hearts;

Ask for forgiveness from Allah and make a new start.

Raising our hands we ask for his 'Rahmat';

Hear us our Lord and grant us 'Jannat'

Happy Ramzan To All YoU Guys!!

1st Ashra of Ramadan

Ashra is an Arabic word which means "ten." In Islamic terminology, the 1st Ashra refers to the first 10 days of the Holy month of Ramadan. The second Ashra refers to the middle 10 days (11-20), and the third Ashra refers to the last set of 10 days (21-30).

The first ten days of Ramadan are known as the period of Mercy. It is indeed the sign of His Mercy upon us that we are blessed to observe Fast during Ramadan. Accordingly, we are encouraged to be more generous and kind to fellow beings, especially to be extremely respectful to elders and loving to the younger ones, and to be extremely generous to the needy and poor ones. Being that it will be our first days of experiencing hunger and thirst, this act of generosity should come naturally as it becomes easy to understand the hardship of the poor and needy. Among the few things to do in this month of mercy and charity, as instructed by the Prophet, peace be upon him, are, "Give alms to the poor and needy. Pay respect to elders, have sympathy to youngsters, to be kind to your relatives." It is our undeniable duty to practice of guarding our tongue against unworthy words, eyes from seeing forbidden things, and ears from hearing voices that are evil.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Ramadan?

Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar, which is based on the orbiting of the moon (lunar calendar), rather than the orbiting of the earth (solar calendar). It was in the month of Ramadan in which the Quran (Holy Book for Muslims) was first revealed.

What is Fasting?

Muslims should refrain from eating, drinking, smoking and conjugal relations. This means that no substitute should be introduced into the body, which could be considered as providing nourishment to the body (e.g., a nutritional injection). Fasting also involves abstaining from evil intentions and desires.

What is the length of the Fasting?

From dawn to sunset, every day of the month of Ramadan, the 9th month of the Islamic calendar.

Who should observe the Fast?

Fasting is obligatory upon every Muslim male and female who has reached the age of puberty.

Who is exempted from Fasting?

Men and women who are too old and feeble to undertake the obligation of fasting.

Sick people whose health may be worsened by fasting.

Pregnant women if according to a doctor's advice they should refrain from fasting.

Breast-feeding mothers if their child does not receive a sufficient quantity of milk because of their mother's fast.

Women in the period of menstruation and after childbirth (up to a maximum of 40 days).

Children under the age of puberty.

Insane people who are not accountable for their deeds.

A traveling Muslim.

All the above people (with the exception of children who are underage and the insane people and the feeble elderly) must make up the number of fasts they have missed on account of their exemption, after the month of Ramadan.

How is Ramadan celebrated?

A feast called Eid-ul-Fitr, a day of thanks giving and happiness celebrates the end of Ramadan. On this day, Muslims offer special prayers in congregation and thank Allah for His blessings and mercy.

Note:

In conclusion, it is imperative to judge a religion by its teachings and not by people who claim to be its followers.
