 SOULS OF THE NIGHT

Fading shabby shadows and dusky lazy light,

I see the upcoming souls of nascent night.

The whispers goodbye to him,

The sinking sombre sun still gives a grin.

The twilight twinkles, the shining stars glow,

The gentle whistling wind blows fast and slow.

The black spooky sky waves to the blue,

The glossy green glitters beacause of dew.

The firebug frisks with glee and gay,

The solitary sunflower misses the day.

The lady of the night smells sweet and pleasant,

It tells a tale of beatific beauty and scent.

The bevy of chirping birds, in the nests they lie,

The wacky whistles of the gurad guy.

Quite is the city and the vale,

Skiffs silently skim on sea and ships sail.

The clock chivvies and solemn silence strides,

The mystic moonlight peeps through my window wide.

It makes me go and slumber fast,

The dooming day and ebbing evening have receded atlast!!!

heyy nobody likes Nature. strange quite strange. or u ppl r not interested in english poetry. hmm. ok .

I WANT TO STAY

I was standing in a lawn,

So peaceful, so calm,

The birds were chirping all around,

Flowers were singing a cheerful song,

Water was dancing in the stream,

Composing a beautiful theme,

The cool breeze that was passing by,

Made the dry leaves to fly,

I was walking beside the stream,

And the life just seemed,

So soothing, so superb,Suddenly I woke up,

It was my dream,My eyes felt a beam,

I was lying in my bed,And that moment I felt,

That was the place I want to spend,

Rest of my life till it ends,

There I want to stay,

And spend my life with gladness and gay !!!!

Spring Season

What a beautiful season is spring,

Wonderful blossoms does it bring.

Roses, daffodils, daisies and sweet peas,

Are gifts for butterflies and honey bees.

With its beautiful coloured flowers,

It brightens the season hours.

Write about the beauty of Nature!

Nice poems Fati... you ve got a good grip on English language...and a richness of ideas..emotions..expressions..

Present day life style has detached us from NATURE.. and dont even realize how much we have lost... just to tell u my personal example.....

Yesterday Karachi had a rainfall after a looong time... I was heading home and my car broke in the middle of a pool of knee deep water. My immediate reaction was anger/fraustration... was too upset that I will have to spoil my dress and get soaked in rain......I pushed my car along roadside and started walking looking for hitch hike..... it was raining pretty heavy, I was completely damp... WET ;)........ just afew minutes like this ......and I felt a FREE feeling ...started enjoying...singing "rain drops keep falling on my head" (remember the song ???)........ It took 2 hours to reach home and I was thinking what a wonderful experience it had been... I was happy to have been forced into a situation where I was close to "mother nature" .. like a child... free of self developed iron composures... I wonder how much we are missing in life for having created some false walls around us...

take care, keep smiling, and keep up your good work

Teotihuacan

Sunblind and sweating,

we weaved down dusty lanes,

past volcanoes spewing ashen memories

that blanketed peasant farmers

camping on the hillsides

Fields woven with agave

skipped by our

rickety Mexican coach

as sand danced on its windows,

screening our world in bronze

Anabella pulled her white hat over her eyes

and closed them to a slit

as the sun warmed my back;

sueños con los angelitos,

I breathed in broken Spanish

THE SECRET:

To defeat this old age

I have consulted the sayings of every sage

I have researched lotions and potions

and all the remedies to soothe emotions

I have visited Apothecaries and Pharmacies

I knelt before those dealing in intimacies

I look up to the blue as well as the grey sky

I scan the galaxies farther off and very high

In the Jungles of Kashmir I found old men

Who had secrets stashed in their lowly den

I know many have gone on this track before

did they leave any hint of having reached the shore

Dear Billy and all my slowly fading friends

I can't really tell how this story ends

But, from time to time, I shall open the shell

And give you a glimpse inside the mother of pearl

Bear with me, for we are the sons of that Murree Pine

Whose memory intoxicates as a vintage heady wine
