Cyforums Moving To New Server In The Next 24 Hours

As we promised, we have purchased a new hosting JUST for COOLYAR FORUMS bcoz we came to know how much u miss the community when it was not available in this month for more then a week.

The new servers are USA based and they have been chosen for their performance and reliability. I hope the new website shall be running BUG and ERROR freeee.

The moving from this server to the other one might take upto 24 hours. But we will make sure not even a single post/topic is left behind. During this MOVING period you might not be able to access this community.

We Will update you the latest dev soon.

One thing which I am always thinking is how you cover the cost (hosting, development, maintenance, upgrade etc) when I don't see lot of banner ads of popups in CY.

I don't say we are professional but we try to be as friendlier and co-operative as possible. neways thanx for appreciating.

How we cover the costs? hmmm... we spend thousands every year (nearly Rs. 35,000) but the interesting part is that our parents do not know about it ;) We use our pocket oney and all our allowances even our Eiddy :( in CY and other websites.

We do the development (me on backend programming and Waqas on front end designing) and we don't charge for it ;)

Yes we spent all this money on the hosting accounts and maintenance. Todate we have not spent a penny on the advertisement of CY.

Neither did we got any advertisements to be placed on CY from any company/organization. why no advertisement even when we are the 3rd most visited website of Pakistan? bcoz to get advertisements u have to do marketing and both of us cannot get out of our bzy schedule to find advertisers/investers.

We started this website as a project almost 4 years ago but now the costs are rising up and up. We have plans to make some profit out of this website so that by the end of next year we would atleast be able to fill in all the costs of hosting, internet connection etc.

Nice to know all these facts, And sorry to hear you and Waqas has to spend all your pocket money for CY (I am sure every member will appricate this).

Now you are paying in $, this will be more tuff for u. Will you like to tell what backend database you are useing for CY and what are front tools.

Anyway nice to talk with you (I need to remember to bring some nice gift for you and Waqas in my next visit to Pakistan after all you both are spending a lot on this site)
