Shabo 0 Posted March 19, 2003 The Interesting Paradox Of Life We have taller buildings but shorter tempers. Wider freeways but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less. We buy more, but enjoy it less. We have bigger houses but smaller families. More conveniences but less time in our hands. We have more degrees, but we make less sense. More knowledge but poorer judgment. We have multiplied our possessions but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too little and hate too often. We've learned to make a living, but not life. We've added years to life, but not life to years. We've been crossing all the way to the moon and back. But have trouble crossing all the way to the moon and back. We've conquered outer space, but not our inner selves. We've done larger things, but not necessarily better things. We've built more computers to communicate faster, but less communication. These are the times of fast food and slow digestion. Of taller men but dwarfed characters. These are the days of two incomes, but more separations and annulments. Of fancier houses, but broken homes. U know it's a coincidence but I had a discussion wid my mom abt the same thing. But the question that I don't understand is why wud we do that? Don't u think it'd be better if we did the opposite. I mean lets say if we hadn't conquered the outer space but our innerselves. Wudn't that be much better? We cud've made so much sense out of our lives. Don't u think so? It's a very philosophical topic and we can talk abt it forever but I m getting late. I think it's enuf for today. Gtg....... see ya round. Bye ur fren ooky! I am speaking about the majority here.... they just want to move FORWARD be it with their lifestyle, their values, technology etc etc and forget what they really are! We know the difference between right and wrong and yet we will favour the wrong path :( This is when our religious beliefs help us to make the RIGHT choice (even if we dont want to) and come through as stronger people.... Ppl 4get their roots very easily yet they dont realise that is what they r, it's their identity and they should cherish that!
